The Freedom Area Educational Foundation is a private, non-profit, (tax exempt 501(c)(3) IRS application pending), organization that was created on January 1, 2008 to enrich the quality of education and extracurricular activities within the district beyond what it typically expected of taxpayer funding.
The Foundation is focusing its efforts on scholarships for graduating seniors, teacher grants to enhance innovative educational opportunities, and improvements to athletic facilities.
After the initial class of 2008, the Foundation will be administering the Freedom Area Hall of Fame as well. Click Here to read a Beaver County Times article about the 2008 1st Annual Freedom High School Hall of Fame Weekend and the 1st Class of Inductees.
Fundraising from the initial Hall of Fame event resulted in the Foundation presenting a check in the amount of $14,000 to the Freedom Area School Board at their February 12, 2009 meeting to be used to assist in the creation of a Wellness Center in the High School.
