Conway Borough Action Committee (CBAC)

At it's March 17, 2010 meeting, Conway Council passed a policy creating the Conway Borough Action Committee (CBAC).

The new committee is intended to function outside the control of Council as both an advisory body to study and make recommendations to Council (and the Mayor) on issues referred to the committee by Conway government, or the Committee also has the ability to initiate the study or design of a program / activity and can present that to Council for approval & implementation.

The initial members of the Executive Committee are appointed by Council, however, the Committee is structured to recruit it's own members and officers from that point forward.  The committee itself will determine the activities that it involves itself with and is empowered to create any and all necessary sub-committees to carry out it's activities.  Subcommittees could be formed based on the interests and wishes of the combination of the General and Executive members of the committee.

It is also hoped that the committee will become a forum for regular communication between Conway residents, businesses, churches, and other non-profit organizations.
